erwbol
Last week I found a new apartment so I won't order any more CDs abroad until after I've moved (two to three weeks time). After that this series will be a priority for me, hopefully throughout next year if the series is continued with a monthly release schedule of 25 discs. bertrand
Universal Japan is off to a good start! Looking forward to finally having Contrasts on CD. Bertrand.

erwbol
Thanks. We're currently hard at work. Now I'll finally be able to get some floor speakers again (and upgrade my amp) in the near future without causing a riot.

CJ Shearn
I ordered Empyrean Isles, Out to Lunch and Speak No Evil. Edited November 29, 2013 by CJ Shearn
jazzbo
I received the two Monks, the two Shorters, and the Adderley. I confess they sound really good. However not that amazing that I'm going to order many more.
CJ Shearn
I always felt the RVG of Empyrean Isles was too midrangy, that AM radio like quality. The Speak No Evil RVG is too bright for me, I never found the RVG's of the Adderley or "Juju" or the Monk titles to be an issue.
bertrand
Remind me where you guys are ordering from? My preference would be Dusty Groove, but they don't seem to have them. Bertrand.

Bertrand.I guess that would be CDJapan: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/They're probably cheaper than any non-Japanese store and their service is excellent, almost Hiroshi-like. jazzbo
Yes, I very carefully worded that.
Steve Gray
Side issue here... Don't you guys in the States ever have to pay import duty when you get a big package from Japan or Europe?
jazzbo
No, never have.
Late
For those who like hardcopy lists, attached is a Word file of erwbol's original list — re-typed with the catalog numbers first. 100 titles up to February 24, 2014. What will the next 100 titles be? (Or will there be another hundred?) tycj-100.doc
etherbored
thanks, late! i was doubtful about the long term of this series to begin with so i won't dare speculate as to its future but 100 titles does seem a little light. Steve Gray
No, never have. You are so lucky. The limit here in England is about $22 (including postage). Step over that line and you have to pay VAT, import duty and a "handling charge"

If the value exceeds that limit, you have to pay VAT and in some cases duty over the total value plus shipping. A handling charge is also payable. Edited November 30, 2013 by J.A.W. David Ayers
I see from hmv.co.jp that Universal Japan have more SHM-CD titles coming (UCCO 5xxx). Nothing completely new I don't think but some titles that have only ever been Japan-only like Freddie Redd Piano East/West. But could be wrong and I guess when one of us gets round to making a list we'll know for sure.
colinmce
These also seem to be up on Amazon FWIW. Here's OTL, for example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00E9R3L74/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new Not sure how these stack up pricewise against CD Japan, which I've never used, but it seems reasonable at a little over $20 all told. Yes it is Prestige titles - I mentioned it for the SHM connection - don't want to derail the thread....Just grateful that Universal Japan are keeping busy...
