Stefan Wood
I'll get Starless, but hopefully much lower than that listed price. Yikes!!
Bigshot
I can't imagine listening to that much aimless noodling.
Shawn
Aimless noodling? I fart in your general direction.
Bigshot
I saw Fripp perform live a few times. The last time he berated the audience for ten minutes for not being quiet enough while he sat in a chair and noodled. It was "fripp's league of gentlemen" or something like that. He was no gentleman. Thhhhppppp Fripppppppp!
Shawn
I saw Fripp in Seattle in the 90s and he was great, didn't say a single word to the audience, just came out and started doing his soundscape thing. He brought another guitarist on stage to improvise over the soundscapes, it was a cool laid-back gig.
Homefromtheforest
I saw him once with King Crimson on the "Vroom" tour and again some years later on one of the first "projekt" tours...
Steve Reynolds
The last thing one could say about the Red version of Crimson is aimless noodling. Well someone said it but it is the farthest thing from reality
bogdan101
I can't imagine listening to that much aimless noodling. Yeah, sometimes they veer into this "Jazz" thing...

Swinger
I bought that The Road To Red in March and I got that Starless boxset a few days ago. They are both really fascinating
Stefan Wood
Starless in the mail. I'll never leave my listening room ever....... BTW, did anyone notice a 2 disc set of live King Crimson, featuring tracks throughout their career? Apparently there will be a forthcoming THRAKK box. A Lark Ascending
I put off buying this thinking it a step too far, having rather a lot of the DGM downloads. How many Fractured's can you take. I buckled in September and have paced myself through the first 5 discs. Really enjoyed the experience. It will take me well into the spring to get through it. This band were hugely influential in my listening. When I first saw them in late '72 everything was unfamiliar. I still recall the excitement of hearing a band with islands of composition, linked with extraordinary extended improvs. Completely spoilt me for other rock bands - only Henry Cow could match them in the rock world when it came to that composed/improvised balance. Needless to say I've ordered 'Starless' - I'm not a great one for boxed sets but this band mean a great deal to me.
