connoisseur series500 Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Sam Rivers. Problem with this game is how to keep up with what's been said already. Has anyone chosen Sam before? Anyway, we can have an updated history list of the names selected? Quote
Joe G Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 The real problem with this game is no one is getting drunk! Actually, I'm gonna have to take a shot right here; can't think of a Nick or a Ned. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 I would just like to mention that my college buddies and I did this game in the van on the way to Florida. Obviously, since we were driving, we weren't drinking, but it was fun nevertheless. It wasn't strictly jazz musicians either, since I was the only guy who liked that music anyway. But I have to say that I kicked everyone's ass at that game. Mainly by naming musicians they never heard of. They kept saying, "You're just making this shit up!" and then I'd give a short biography of the artist I just named. Quote
Joe G Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Nat Adderley Damn! I also thought of the most popular jazz musician of the past year: NORAH JONES!!! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 (edited) Chucho Valdés ( And, I'm already thinking of a good (but probably obscure) guy with a "V" first name. Hint - he was a on at least three BN recordings during 1960-1970. ) Edited April 15, 2003 by Rooster_Ties Quote
