cih Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 You can join a band or an orchestra in 90 days.. also, reading between the lines, it'll attract women. Quote
robertoart Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 'You don't have to study the saxophone as you do other instruments'! That's what they told me about the guitar.... Quote
king ubu Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 The c-melody sure helps getting over transposing issues and you and the woman on the piano stool can get right to business Quote
robertoart Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) You'll be speaking the same language in no time. Edited July 22, 2013 by freelancer Quote
BeBop Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 Yeah, they've got the attracting woman part right. Every woman I borrow money from to support my saxo-horn plaing poverty seems attracted to me forever more. Quote
Jerry_L Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I can explain most of what you need to play guitar in an hour. All you need to do is practice for another 10,000 hours or so to get good at it. Quote
jeffcrom Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) In the picture above, Tom Brown is holding his Adolphe Sax-made soprano. (How cool is that?) He recorded on it only once - he plays alto on all the originally-issued Brown Brothers records. But an undated acetate dub of "Rosy Cheeks," featuring Tom on soprano, appears on the Archeophone Brown Brothers collection Those Moaning Saxophones. The origin of the recording is unknown, but it may have been dubbed from a now-lost Victor test pressing. I apologize for posting something serious in this thread, but I thought that was interesting. Oh, and Steve Lacy once said in an interview that the best sound he ever got was when he got to play an original Adolphe Sax horn at a museum. Edited July 22, 2013 by jeffcrom Quote
robertoart Posted July 22, 2013 Report Posted July 22, 2013 I knew someone would know all about those photos. Serious is good. Pity the last photo in the ad is serious too. Quote
