I was lucky and unlucky to have jobs that required me to be extroverted. It was difficult for me, but at the same time very helpful. I've a more isolated life than ever now, and I'd welcome an extroverted job! Not for a while though.

It really is true, if you're strongly an introvert being surrounded by people really can drain you and being off by yourself can recharge you. Fascinating process.

During my first thirty years I was very extroverted. But I have found myself becoming much more introverted over the past fifteen years.

You sure you don't listen to too many ECM discs? :g

Isn't it kind of extroverted to talk about being an introvert?

I've just come to accept the fact that I love people but don't like them all that much. It's not a conflict than can be resolved, nor do I think it really needs to be.

Peace at last!

So i should write a novel in Russian?

That would be TOO extroverted, to say nothing of difficult, if not impossible and time-consuming.

Intorvert-schmintrovert, I'm just lazy.

Lazy but happy!

The book "The Introvert Advantage" has a fascinating section about how the brains of introverts and extroverts are different, how they process sensations and thoughts differently and through different neural pathways through the brain.

I have some VERY strong opinions about this subject. On the other hand I guess I'll keep 'em to myself. No point in rocking the boat. :-)

Edited to add a smiley face symbol. My attempt at a quip about extroversion and introversion in the same brain. My I pad can't access the emoticons available.

Oh, I love people. I just don't trust them as a rule. I'm very social and outgoing, but don't surround myself with friends. Been screwed too many times in the past, plus I'd rather spend more time with my wife and son.

I have a buddy that my son and I golf with. And that's it.

And your music.

I'm right on the borderline of introvert/extrovert (I've scored both ways in personality tests), I have characteristics of both and will lean more one way than the other depending on my mood and the social situation.
