DIS Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 I seem to recall that RCA Spain offered quite a few Shorty Rogers CDs, but I can't seem to find their website. Can anyone help? Quote
Late Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Dis, while I can't help you with a website, try this this search. You'll have to sort through quite a few Mancini and show tune albums, but there are still good albums to be had. If you like Rogers' music, I strongly recommend Dick Collins on trumpet, and his RCA album entitled King Richard the Swinghearted. Also, if you can find it, Collins' Dick Collins and the Runaway Herd is even better. Collins sounds a lot like Chet Baker, and even before Baker sounded like Baker! Quote
FrancoisD Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 (edited) You can find all the Shorty Rogers releases on RCA, plus many other great albums from the same period on the Fresh Sound/Blue Moon website. The RCA Spain label is shown in the "Distribution Labels" column on the left ("RCA Records : Jazz and Other"). Edited February 7, 2004 by FrancoisD Quote
ghost of miles Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Thanks for the link... I've been looking for a copy of THE SWINGIN' NUTCRACKER to play on the radio come next Christmas. They're temporarily out of stock, but I'll keep an eye out for it to come back in. Too bad Mosaic doesn't have much luck leasing from BMG--I'd really like to see a Shorty Rogers RCA set. Quote
