Yeah, I don't get this one at all.

By his account, the Men's Wearhouse BOD has decided to keep him from voicing his concerns by firing him.

Can we be far from bankruptcy court...?

if you've encountered george online, he definitely spoke his piece loudly. many would call him vulgar and rude.

Then, IMHO, you deal with him on that level.

The guy made that company a success.

I always wonder if they won't bring a founder/key dude back. Think Charles Schwab, Howard Schultz, Michael Dell, Steve Jobs. (I hope all those examples are correct, but you get the idea.)

Bullshit.

The only reason young people don't patronize the MW is cost. It is the only reason I don't go there all the time.

Firing Zimmerman doesn't change the MW problem with asking too much for a suit.

I think selfish EGO is the issue here.

Their tux rental service is damn near impeccable, though (at least here it is). We used them for our son's wedding, and you could not ask for better service.

Come to think of it, the few times I've bought there (maybe 5-6 times over the last 25 or so years), the service was always top-shelf. If you pay those prices and get good merchandise with that type of service, it seems like a fair enough deal, if not a particularly affordable one.

""Neither the Board nor management desired a total breakdown of the relationship between Mr. Zimmer and the company. In our discussions with Mr. Zimmer, we made considerable efforts to find a solution that would have allowed him to continue to have a significant involvement with Men's Wearhouse. Unfortunately, Mr. Zimmer wouldn't accept anything other than full control of the company and the Board was left with no choice but to terminate him as Executive Chairman.

"As a Board, we care deeply about the culture of Men's Wearhouse, which we fostered and helped create along with the management team and our 17,000 valued employees. We stand behind its core values of world-class customer service, servant leadership and the open door culture that celebrates the value of every voice.

the well dressed man, like the well dressed woman, is becoming a relic.

it's a culture change.

You're about fifty years late...

agreed-----------back in the early 60s, a very dressy zsa zsa appeared on the tonight show, and my 30ish date for the evening remarked how goofy and out of fashion gabor was(in 1961).
