RIP, saw him only once, at a private gig, ive only been to like 3 weddings in my life and this was one of them, he rocked that town, played mostly alto sax, on alto sax he sounded like paul desmond, was really good.

I agree with Larry that the recordings made for the Xanadu label show Sam Most at his best.

I am also not a big fan of most jazz flute playing, but Most has long been a favorite of mine.

The one Xanadu CD by Most that has been reissued on CD is titled "Mostly Flute".

Joining Sam on this very good session are Tal Farlow, Duke Jordan, Sam Jones & Billy Higgins.

there are several sessions that I have on facsimile LPs; Most plays brilliant clarinet, though the original reason I bought them was because Schildkraut is on tenor on at least one of the sessions.
