Brad Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Marc Myers posted this, http://www.jazzwax.com/2013/06/dave-lambert-lost-tracks.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Jazzwax+%28JazzWax%29, at his website, about an audition at RCA in 1964 that was never released or saw fruit. Fortunately, some tapes of the session survived. Quote

Brad Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 Sorry, don't come here that often anymore. Quote
king ubu Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Not a problem! Wasn't aware it had gone from the nets - certainly deserves mentioning again! Just thought the older thread might be of interest to some Plus it seems the new set of movies has longer versions of the sung tunes? Have not had time to check it out yet, so... Quote

Among my "lost" tapes, recently found in a box at the Royal Library, Copenhagen, was this one, which I posted a couple of days ago: Quote
king ubu Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Great stuff, Chris - many thanks for sharing! :tup Quote
mikeweil Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Indeed! I love Lambert, and Hendricks .... any idea who all the singers were? Quote
king ubu Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 Lambert gives the names for one of the tunes ... there's a Gildo Mahones trio track and then one or two with LH&B joining them. And in the end, there's Lambert fooling around with an electric keyboard live in the studio. Great stuff! I think it's only one or two tunes early on where the singers are unknown/unnamed. Quote
