We all know rats were introduced to islands that never had any when ships arrived.

Now it appears that it has happened again, but this time on Mars.

Most unpleasant experience of my life was when I had to pound a rat to death with a shovel in the garage. Still creeps me out just to think about that, and rats, now. My daughter had a pet rat shortly after that, and it was so cute and stuff, but I could not bring myself to hold it or pet it.

I'm rurnt on rats. Glad they're moving to Mars, wish them well. They'll never again see me, nor I them.

I once came accross a rat that was dead in the trap for about maybe 3 or 4 days. I will never forget the smell of a dead rat.

A friend and I once got off a bus late at night at the wrong stop in Chicago. We ended up walking next to a small stream or river or whatever and there was something swimming that looked large glowing in the moonlight. We thought it looked graceful and pretty until we realized it was a very large rat.

I've seen this inflated rat at different times as several locations in NYC. It's used to protest something; maybe vermi? I forget. It might have been a landlord whose building had an asbestos problem. Maybe it's versatile.

They put it up when there are problems between the union and management leading to a lock-out. Seems to be particularly prevalent in front of hotels. Not sure it has the desired impact anymore.

I've seen the inflatable rat used in Philadelphia to protest the use of non-union labor.

I think ejp 626 makes a good point. Once you've seen the giant inflatable rat a couple of times you don't even think about what they're trying to say anymore.
