:tup would you? do you?

"(NEWSER) – Makeup isn't just for ladies anymore, but that doesn't mean you're about to see Adam Lambert lookalikes at every turn. A new trend in stealth makeup, or ahem, "grooming," has men's cosmetics sales climbing—to the tune of more than $5 billion that American guys dropped last year on skin care and cosmetics, compared to $2.4 billion in 1997."

I used Clearasil when I was a kid. Kinda soured me on the notion of putting anything on my face for the purpose of making it look any different than it already does.

But if you can make it work for you, go for it!

The joke that the same type men who used white powder then are still using white powder of a different type today might be there to be made, but how accurate it would be, I wouldn't know.

The European [English in specific] aristocracy of the 16th and 17th wore tons of white make-up owing largely to the fact people didn't bathe but twice a year. They would just cover up the dirt and perfume it away. Snuff [for men] and fans [for ladies] or handkerchiefs were used to keep the offending odors at bay.

The idea was the water was making people sick. They hadn't yet figured out that all the human waste being dumped in the streets from chamber pots was getting into the rivers and lakes or other ground water supplies. That is what was making them sick.

What a difference one tap on the spacebar can make. You might want to correct this thread's heading. Unless, of course, you feel there is a need to make up for men. :D

Thanks, Chris. Correction made.
