mjzee Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 I just saw this on the CDJapan site. I have no further info on the release. CDJapan Very clever follow-up to this release from the '70's: Quote

CJ Shearn Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Interesting, would that be on High Note? Quote
robertoart Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 Yes, first one is a classic. I believe the original was recorded as part of a marathon session that produced Exit and another albums worth of material - so Martino could finalise his association with Muse. Quote

medjuck Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 I ran into Pat Martino in an elevator in a NY city hotel a couple of months ago. To be honest I didn't recognize him but since he had a guitar on his back, I asked if he had a gig and where he was playing. When he replied, " Birdland," I was suitably impressed and asked him his name. I should have recognized him since I've seen a film about him and his remarkable recovery. Quote
etherbored Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 (edited) that's funny. a couple years ago i was in midtown walking right down broadway and who should i run into but gil goldstein walking the opposite direction. i leaned over and said "are you, by chance, gil goldstein?" and he said he didn't remember ever being recognized in public and asked me to join him for a film (oddly enough) which i didn't have tme for, so we sat and had a beer. he was a supreme gentleman and we keep in touch to this day. CJ Shearn Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 (edited) He also has some of the greatest facial expressions ever while playing. He's great on Metheny's "Secret Story" DVD. Very cool he asked you to join him for a film. Edited May 20, 2013 by CJ Shearn Quote

I hope they're duets with Gil only playing Rhodes electric piano. Quote
7/4 Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 It would be nice if this came out in the states at a reasonable price, but I guess it's "one of those things". Quote
