Washington Township firefighter Josef Tadijanac’s goal is to push mow his yard by the end of summer.

Tadijanac was injured June 24, 2012, when he became trapped between two fire trucks as he helped pump water from one tanker to another. He suffered above-the-knee amputations, organ system failures, vision loss and cognitive dysfunction.

Thursday, Tadijanac was at MedCentral/Shelby Hospital working with physical therapist Brandon Blankenship, learning to walk again with the use of his new computerized prosthetic legs, which come with a charger. He said he is the 13th person in Ohio to get the Genium III legs.

Initially, Tadijanac said the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation rejected paying for his new electronic legs because officials said they didn’t believe....
