after three: Dallas 13....Detroit 7

final score: Detroit 31....Dallas 30

That last touchdown was hilarious. Well, unless you're a Cowboys fan, I guess.

What I never get is you draft players to play a certain type of defense....then you bring in someone that uses a defense they're not suited to play. In the 4-3 Ware was a monster. In Kiffin's D he might as well be sitting on the sidelines every game. They're last in D in almost every category. Under the other Ryan they were middle of the pack.

All of which means having to depend on Romo even more to win games for them.

P.S. Back to concussions and the High School level.

From you can't make this up. 11 schools in Kansas and Nebraska share one athletic trainer. Why would any parent allow their child to play for a team there is not a single medical personal, or trainer @ that their games?

Well...same old Rams.

Up the middle on 3rd and goal with everybody and their brother clogging the line of scrimmage? Then with four seconds a pass into the seats? Amazing stupidity.

Guess it's up to the Saints or the Niners to hand USC North their 2nd loss.

Yeah, it's a pretty bad year...but the Niners have played a schedule of cupcakes that makes you think the York's have pictures of Goodell in a comprising situation. It's really hard to tell with the Seahawks, even. Their schedule is just as much of a cupcake.

Yeah, the Niners beat the Rams but they stink and Fisher is @ best a mediocre coach. Anyone really looks @ his record will see he's completely overrated.

I take the Jags. Schiano is a disaster (who should have never been hired) and I don't see anyone on that team wanting him back next year. The only reason I can see that he hasn't been fired is they want to make sure to get the #1 pick. It's really come down to them and Vikings in the hunt for Bridgewater. All three teams desperately need a QB.

P.S. If they get embarrassed by the Seahawks I can see him being fired before their next game, which is a Monday Night game @ home. That's going to be one empty stadium, and a lot of booing on National TV by those that bother to go.

In under 24 hours or so Aldon Smith checked out of rehab....proceeds to turn himself in for 3 felony possessing illegal assault weapons (as a result of a party @ his home in 2012 were he was stabbed and two others shot)....and the Niners activate him from the non-football injury list. Classy!

P.S. Leaves out the rest of his arsenal of weapons, magazines, and ammo.

dangerous football myths--------

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/10/31/bernstein-dangerous-football-lies-exposed/

"It has been a common theme the last couple seasons, with schools wanting to boast of doing everything possible to care for students, even if they had no idea if they were telling the truth. The helmet manufacturers created new products that came with both NFL endorsements and densely-worded disclaimers – the bright, militaristic image of protection covering the paralyzing fear of lawsuits, in an inherently conflicted, ironic effort.

The futility was exposed by a University of Wisconsin study released Monday that confirmed powerfully what most already believed: no brand, type, or age of helmet makes any difference in preventing concussions.
What’s worse, the nefarious charlatans peddling specialized mouth-guards are endangering kids as they use bogus claims to steal money from school districts. The study found a much higher likelihood of concussion with their use, as opposed to a standard mouthpiece."

I just learned of this.

From just how much of a disaster Schiano is..... They trade for Darrelle Revis....give him a 6-year $96 million deal (none of which is guaranteed...but this year he get's $16 million) and he doesn't let him play man to man @ all so far this season, but only zone defense.

You can't make that up!

As I pointed out earlier....you can have the best helmets possible....which bye the way the NFL doesn't mandate players use the best one....just a Riddell. Soft gelatin bouncing inside of a small hard location....with very little place to move around in without bouncing off something hard.....biology meets physics. Physics wins each time.

The NFL also doesn't even mandate that players use something as basic as a mouthpiece....and a real mouthpiece (and not one of those half-assed ones you see kids in pop warner use) would really help a great deal. Never mind real protective chin straps.

P.S. As part of covering their 6....the NFL has cut exclusive ties to Riddell. It opened them up to lawsuits galore (even down to the High School and lower level) by authorizing only Riddell. As in, the NFL like the NCAA (with the video games and whatnot) realizes there are so many lawsuits that can end things.

Which brings me back to how much the NFL won in the concussion case with former players.

P.P.S. They only just got around to mandating thigh and knee pads for this year.

thanks for your input on helmets, riddel, and mouth pieces.

the amount of the nfl victory in the concussion is probably a tenth of what it should be. i think it limited to 3 million per player. that's not far these days.

Jonathan Martin is from Stanford. Not exactly small, or can't protect himself. Both his parents are Lawyers who graduated from Harvard. His Great-Grandfather was only one of 12 African-Americans in the class of 1924 and he wasn't allowed to live on campus dorm.

All kinds of shit going on with each of the Florida teams, but this is something that has been going on for a good while with him.

You don't have to read between lines what this is really about.

NFL just found itself in another mess.
