Heikki Sarmanto (pretty much anything), Ted Daniel "Tapestry," Louie Belogenis/Mike Bisio/Sunny Murray (I wrote the notes), Po Band, Warren Smith, Juma. The reissued jazz titles tend to be somewhat stronger than the new releases but for like $5 or whatever, no complaints. I don't know much of the electronic/experimental stuff he's put out though the acoustic/electro-acoustic discs from Katherine Young and Andrew Raffo Dewar are excellent.

FAB Trio, Old Dog, Nu Band, the Ted Daniel, Byard Lancasters, the Juma Sultan cd, Henry Grimes & Rashid Ali, Joe Chambers, Arnold Cheatham. David Hurley's Outer Nebula is a surprise, recommended as well, as Eero Kovistoinen's 3rd version. Lots of good stuff here.

Got my package, ordered last Friday - amazingly fast!

These all look very nice. Will take me a while to squeeze them in between my classical listening schedule, but I'm looking forward a lot (and thank you guys for the recommendations, I'd have skipped the Belogenis for sure, if I hadn't seen it mentioned here).

Also, Luke was kind enough to add both freebies to my order, which amounted to quite a bit less than 100$, even including shipping. Now that's great service! :)

too late :(

But I'm almost through with the Ted Daniel - and that one's mighty fine! Rather trippy, with thick rhodes (including wah-wah and echo-plex), beat isn't as important here as it was with Miles, the music sounds somewhat more open, but also, if that makes sense, somewhat more "flat"? I'm enjoying it immensely, for sure!

Maybe they're not for everybody (i.e., non-jazz, non-soul/funk) but I find it disheartening that the Natural Food and Birigwa CDs were almost unmovable - I have the original Seeds LPs and really enjoy them. The Birigwa is beautiful, in particular.

I had my eye on those. I'd so like to place an order, but I know now's not the time ...

FWIW, I also love the Jeweled Antler material. I listened to a lot of that at the time, and it was always my favorite stuff to come out of the early 2000's "freak folk" thing.
