Blue Train
Congratulations to the Cardinals' fans and condolences to those of the Dodgers. If I have to choose between the teams that are left, it would be the Cardinals. Can't bring myself to ever root for the Evil Empire (two oldest siblings are the same with the Yankees ), and the Chicago part of me is allergic to Detroit....and it's apparently mutual....the one and only time I was in the city....I broke my foot and needed surgery. Blue Train
Congratulations to fans of the Evil Empire and condolences to the Tigers' fans. Definitely cheering for the Cardinals now. Not sure I can handle a 3rd one for the Evil Empire. Going to be a lot of good natured smack talk with family and friends who are fans of the Evil Empire. P.S. Does anyone think Valentine ever gets hired again beside a team in Japan? Edited October 20, 2013 by Blue Train

I'm an NL guy so gotta go with the Cards in 6. But if Boston wins, I'm OK with that one, too.

Blue Train
The moment the Evil Empire made it.....it became annoying. Two oldest siblings and cousins from MA/Boston can't stop sending me and others stuff! All good fun, but still! A Yankees vs Dodgers would be hands down THE most annoying WS in baseball.
Blue Train
Giants continue with the bad contracts. Once again bidding against themselves. Linecum - 2 years for $35 million (and a no trade clause!) for someone that has't had a winning record in 3 seasons. Any other team even willing to give him more than $10 to 15 for two years? That's following the last two years he was paid $40.5 million to stink up the joint. Anyone know if a team has given so much previously to any pitcher with this bad of a record over three years...especially the last two years? Two years isn't a fluke. Giants management really doing their best to go back to normal for the Giants. 70% sure Mattingly is gone. He threw a high inside pitch @ his last news conference with the GM there. Dodgers fired the bench coach in response. Edited October 23, 2013 by Blue Train

Tim McG
Good to have Lincecum back with the Giants. A bit pricey, but my money is on Sabean...I'm fairly certain he knows what he's doing.By contrast, Zito's contract was a by-product of Peter Magowan, not Sabean. Blue Train
Apparently the Dodgers are interested in David Price. He's two years away from free agency. Even with arbitration he shouldn't come near the idiotic amount Lincecum received. Unless they just give him a long term deal. A broken-down Linecum (that no other team even made an offer to him) who should not be a starter anymore, or David Price for a lot less money? When polled current players picked David Price 2nd to Clayton Kershaw as active pitchers they would want to pitch one game. Though, if someone like Linencum is getting $17.5 per year.....what do they give Price? Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke and Price would be a pretty daunting 1-3.P.S. Rumors are the Rangers and Yankees are also interested in Price. Checking the farm systems rankings.....the order of systems is Rangers, Yankees, and Dodgers for those rumored. P.P.S. Everyone talks about Linecum losing velocity being the problem. Yes, he's lost 3-5 mph....but his biggest problem is he can't find the strike zone to save his life. He has only had a total of 3 games since the start of in all of 2011 and 2012 that he's had more than 50% of his pitches in the strike zone. His highest being 52.5%. Still trying to hunt down for 2013. Considering his record....not expecting it will be any different for 2013. Tim McG
Now, maybe Brian Wilson will re-join the Giants. He's a closer not a set-up man. Edited October 23, 2013 by GoodSpeak

You obviously missed hearing about this. I wouldn't hold my breath....and why would he leave team he has major chance of winning a WS to the Giants? JSngry
well haha Cardinals got Weird Baseball against them too-night, so sad, not. I'm really having a hard time pulling for anybody in this series, I mean, the Cardinals play Devil Ball, and the most obnoxious fans - no - PEOPLE< I've ever been around in my life were a buttload )as in BUTTload) of drunk Red sox fans in Arlington on a night when the Red Sox were committing baseballporn against the Rangers and their drunken fans were all, like, backroom live porn spectators making whore jokes and hey "degrade" her some MORE HAHAHAHAHARRRRR, I mean truly/really obnoxious repulsive people, literally thousands of them, with no decency or courtesy whatso ever, but Cardinals...there's large quantities of loathsome individuals who come together like flies on shit, and then there's The Devil Incarnate, Inc. I miss Napoli. Of all the player shifting we've done the last two years, that's the one (the only one, really) I wish we had back, and I know I'm not the only one. Will not pull for either "team", but will be happy if Napoli gets a ring.
