NIS
Pretty good music, I think.
Justin V
IIRC, ron carter had a few recordings with him playing a 'piccolo' bass and there was someone else playing a regular bass. That was Buster Williams. Very nice album, played it continuously back then. There's also Eight Plus, with Leon Maleson manning the bass. WD45
Coltrane's Ascension features Jimmy Garrison and Art Davis. Lovely duo part between them on side two. Just listened to this last night again, and there it was.

.:.impossible
Gary Burton Passengers has two basses. Walt Dickerson 1976 also has two basses on at least one track, though all discographies claim Jamaldeen Tacuma and Wilbur Ware weren't playing on the same tracks. Milestones
Spirits of Our Ancestors by Randy Weston. It's Jamil Nasser and Alex Blake. Would bass and cello count? I'm thinking of Waldron's The Quest and Dolphy's Out There.
danasgoodstuff
Last time I saw Ornette, he had 3 basses. Amazingly, they stayed out of each other's way(s)...
Alexander Hawkins
Louis Moholo's 'Bush Fire' with Barry Guy and now I can't think of the South African bassist. In any event one the great free recordings of the 90's Gibo Pheto - brother of Pule, who has the piano chair on the record Agree - love that record! And I know the question wasn't 'records with 4 basses and tuba', but... Edited March 14, 2013 by Alexander Hawkins

fasstrack
I don't know bassist as leader qualifies, but Ray Brown and Christian McBride were touring as a tandem front-line w/rhythm section. I figure they ought to have recorded. Anyone know if they did and if so what it's called? I know I heard live radio perfomances of the group. This would've been shortly before Brown's death in 2000.
