About two years ago I was walking in SF when a man with a mid-sized dog asked me to sign his petition (the petition was for a proposal to save the city money by opening up the garbage collection contracting process to more competition or something).

I reached down to pet his "dog" before I realized he was not, in fact, walking a dog.
