GA Russell Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Another Miles box from Sony: http://www.amazon.com/Box-Set-Miles-Davis/dp/B00H9GJNIS/ref=sr_1_10?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1389970163 I was in Walmart today, and saw a number of different titles in this series. So it's not just Miles. I guess this is to complement their OAC's. Quote
Head Man Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 I thought it was in mono. Ah,......but there's mono and ....... mono. Quote
JSngry Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Have never seen these before...outer cover, yes, but not these: Quote
sidewinder Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Just checked my Japanese pressing of 'Agharta' and it has those fancy labels. Can't say that I've ever noticed them before. The UK issue I also have has the much more sober orange labels of mid-70s UK CBS. Same cover art on the inner in both cases. Edited January 19, 2014 by sidewinder Quote
Neal Pomea Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 (edited) This is the recording that followed his disastrous tour of Stanstraightistan. Edited January 19, 2014 by Neal Pomea Quote
jazzbo Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 Holy cow, the Blu-Spec 2 cds of "Agharta" and "Pangaea" have blown me away! Quote
Clunky Posted February 9, 2014 Report Posted February 9, 2014 Just checked my Japanese pressing of 'Agharta' and it has those fancy labels. Can't say that I've ever noticed them before. The UK issue I also have has the much more sober orange labels of mid-70s UK CBS. Same cover art on the inner in both cases. My UK edition of Agharta is nice and sober with orange labels . It also has great sound. Quote

Yep, I bought my UK copy back in 1975/76 and was blown away with the sound even then, on my naff music centre (and I did follow Miles' inner sleeve instruction to crank the volume to 11). Incredibly, those LPs are still near-mint. Edited February 9, 2014 by sidewinder Quote
Late Posted February 10, 2014 Report Posted February 10, 2014 Holy cow, the Blu-Spec 2 cds of "Agharta" and "Pangaea" have blown me away! Do the Blue Spec-2's have the "extra minutes"? I'm guessing they're from the 2006 remaster ... ? (I was just about to order them from CD Japan ... ) Quote
jazzbo Posted February 10, 2014 Report Posted February 10, 2014 No, they have the original album length and sound for the most part. They sound incredible. Quote
