Claude Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 "Organissimo down?" thread on AAJ Quote
JSngry Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I had the same problem this morning from one of my computers, but not the other. Organissimo is back on both of them now. Quote
tjobbe Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 HI guys, I now have access from home and bypassed all proxies and now it works... not sur what it really is... Cheers, Tjobbe Quote
couw Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 home is where the heart is and also where the forum can be accessed Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Are people still having problems? I posted over the AAJ thread about my initial idea why this happened. I think my domain name expired. This is about the time of year that I first registered the organissimo.org domain about three years ago. It is set to automatically renew itself, but perhaps that took a little time. Randy says all emails to my organissimo accounts were being bounced back too. A big thank you to everyone who tried to contact me during this... I was asleep. I went to bed at 6am. Mr. Meloy even called me from London!! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Well, according to whois.com my domain doesn't expire until Jan. 31, 2005, so there goes that idea. On www.dnsreport.com, organissimo.org doesn't exist (so they say) but organissimo.net is there, albeit with problems. Very strange. I'm trying to track down my server guy. Quote
couw Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 is that organissimo.net address supposed to be a secret? Is it a shadow world where all looks normal but where post suddenly show to contain messages of Lucifer the horned one when read backwards? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 No, I registered it just for kicks and it's set up to ghost this address. Quote
couw Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 does that mean that an all out debacle as happened at AAJ is less likely to occur here? Is this message I type here also posted to the .net forum? cool beans! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 It's not a backup system, it's simply ghosting, or linking to everything here. But what happened at AAJ will not happen here because besides the server backing things up, I back this forum up manually to my home computer every Sunday. Quote
chris olivarez Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 No problems here. Heads up to you B3-er for taking proper precautions. Quote
Claude Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 (edited) From the posts on the AAJ thread, It seems that people can access the organissimo.net address, but not log in. When I go to the .net page and log in (successfully), I am redirected to the corresponding .org page. Those who cannot access the .org domain probably get an error message instead. tjobbe Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 just for the records and maybe thats of help to search for the root cause of that: I got the left hand menue of the organissimo homepage, the bands bio and the www.organissimo.org/music.. the resst ended up in DNS errors. Cheers, Tjobbe Quote
Tom Storer Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Well, I started the AAJ thread because I couldn't get in at all at the office today and the message said the domain didn't exist! I now find that from home all is well. I'll see tomorrow morning if I have the same problem at work. I think it's pretty cool that when we have problems with one jazz board, we can communicate about that on the others. Quote

Dan Gould Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Really really weird. I had no trouble from work today but now I am home and when I tried to get to the board through netscape, I got the same trouble that everyone else is reporting. Can't find the site, and when I tried that alternative link someone posted at AAJ, I could "see" but I couldn't log in and couldn't enter the board through the usual links. So how am I here now? Well, I decided to try using IE instead of Netscape, and guess what? It worked! Really really weird. And the annoying thing is, the reason we use netscape at home is that for some reason, IE would trigger a login error on Hotmail, so we use Netscape just because we get into our e-mail that way. Now, unless this gets fixed, I guess its Netscape for everything else, IE for Organissimo! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 My server guy is on the case. I'm talking to him via AOL Instant Messenger. He sees the problem, now he's just trying to fix it. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Way to go big guy. If it is of any import, I only had trouble for about a half hour this morning - around 8 o'clock, if memory serves. All has been fine since - earthlink dial-up and IE 5 point something. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 I, on the other hand, have been trying to get on since around 11 PST this morning, and just now was able to make it. Weird... Quote
Peter Johnson Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Yay! I'm back on! Sucks not having access... Quote
Out2Lunch Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 I had been trying since about 3:30 PM and just was able to get on. Like George Costanza said, "I'm back,Baby!!" Quote
Harold_Z Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Just back on now for me at 8:30 pm. It's been out all day for me, both at my home pc and at work. Quote
chris olivarez Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 Been kind of a rollercoaster for me. Initially I was ok and then I was down for a few hours and now it's ok again. ??? Quote
Noj Posted February 3, 2004 Report Posted February 3, 2004 I couldn't get on from both my work computers all day, but have no problem from home. Made for a productive day of work. Quote
