Would either one of you Patton -O - Philes care to post the changes to the chord cycle on Soul Woman. I remember you - Jim Alfredson - saying on this board many years ago, someone taught this tune to The Organissimo band when you were just starting out. Do you and Souls Stream both agree on the changes perhaps?

Very glad to see 'The Project' is ready to go.

BTW, I did work out the seven chord rundown in this tune. Just had to take a closer listen after all this time.

Dflat7#9 - F7#9 - B7#9 - Eflat7#9 - A7#9 - Dflat7#9 - D7#9

Grant's chords alternate between the 'Chitlin Con Carne' #9 shape, and the 'Hendrix E' #9 shape.

That 'Chitlin Con Carne' #9 chord is a nasty sounding chord alright :D

Grant and Kenny and Pat Martino loved using this shape. Lots of grunt!

You gentleman better be 'cookin' when you cut this track :g

Nice!...looking forward to it! Congrats, I'm sure Big John would'a been quite flattered and surprised and humbled that you'd do a tribute to him. Great organist, and also as you know, a great writer. Have fun!

Thanks Sidewinder! I talked to John Patton's wife Thelma today. She was very excited to hear about Jim doing a tribute album of John's songs! She said to definately send her a copy, as she'd love to hear it. She was happy to know people still think of John.
