Dan Gould Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 I already know its going to be a good Christmas - top of my list is an accoustic amp for my new (in September) guitar, and a couple of songbooks/instructional DVDs. I'll be playing "Night Moves" just like Seger, and rattling the windows too, by New Year's Day. Quote

T.D. Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Not to sound obnoxious, but I remember when those GPOC boxes were selling cheaply at Berkshire Record Outlet and elsewhere... Quote
Bright Moments Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 Not to sound obnoxious, but I remember when those GPOC boxes were selling cheaply at Berkshire Record Outlet and elsewhere... dang - i sure would like 'em in my stockings this year!!! Quote
T.D. Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 It's one of those strange ironies. The series was endlessly bashed by the cognoscenti on rec.music.classical.recordings* (I used to read some Usenet newsgroups). Some volumes were hot and others not, the series went oop and the mega-boxes didn't seem to sell all that well, cropping up at remainder sites like Berkshire. But, several years on, quoted prices are really high. That seems to happen a lot, especially for things I missed! *Old-time r.m.c.r. readers will recall that the GPOC series was at least partially compiled (I forget details) by the notorious poster Tom Deacon.
