Bright Moments Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 can we get a peek at the liner notes? Quote
GA Russell Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Jim, my credit card was never charged for my kickstarter pledge. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 The new CD is here!!! I'll start shipping this week. Very excited about it and it sounds and looks great. Quote
BeBop Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Just in case anyone is as dumb as I, at the Big-O website, the CD isn't listed under "CDs". Look for the Pre-Order item in its own section. Quote
Clunky Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 I got a link to "get my reward" ( whatever that is , download ...??) emailed from kickstarter but it didn't work. I'll try again later. cover looks excellent and totally not what you might expect. Looks mature and exciting at the same time. What was the idea behind the cover ?? Quote

Look for the Pre-Order item in its own section. Yeah, sorry... I'm going to leave it there until it's "official" release date of Jan 22nd. But all pre-orders will be shipped ASAP. Quote
BeBop Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Kicking off the KCSM (San Mateo, CA/Bay Area) broadcast day: 6:00 AM organissimo never can say goodbye dedicated Quote
Werf Posted January 15, 2013 Report Posted January 15, 2013 Dedicated is great. "Randiculous" and "Up in the Playroom" will hit WGVU FM tonight, and probably a few other tunes from the disc as well. Always exciting to program the brand new Organissimo album. Quote
Werf Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks, Scott! I played "Randiculous" "Up in the Playroom" ""Never Can Say Goodbye" "Three Sisters" and "Patteson's People." Great tunes, wonderful performances. Every tune will get some play. Ralph is perfect for the band. Also, the package itself is cool. Congratulations, guys. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 I heard 'Randiculous' and it's great! Just ordered a disc. Quote
michel devos Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Just downloaded the Flacc and gave them a quick listen : this sound is really beautiful, excellent tracking, excellent mixdown and mastering. I'll certainly come back after extended listenings, but I couldn't wait to tell you all a big Bravo, excellently done! Quote
bertrand Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Can't wait for mine! What will be the procedure to get the bonus downloads? Bertrand. Quote
mr jazz Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 you get an email with 2 attachments which are zip files-flac and mp3. For some reason, the default opening proram is adobe reader so they don't open. I unzipped them but I can't seem to get them to load into TLH to convert them to wav files. I must be missing a step. Tom in RI Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 My copy came in the mail today, going on the player momentarily. Quote
ejp626 Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Am listening to the download of the album -- really digging Dr. Funk. Le Petite Ditty is an interesting change-up. Reminds me a bit of Verdi's Voice off of Goldson's New Time, New Tet (the concept of the track more than any musical similarities). Quote
Noj Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Listening to my copy now! Great to see a few of the regulars amongst the Executive Backers thanked on the inner cover: the names Kevin Bresnahan, Ed Swinnich, and Larry Kart stand out immediately. Too cool for school. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 18, 2013 Author Report Posted January 18, 2013 Can't wait for mine! What will be the procedure to get the bonus downloads? Bertrand. I'll send out an email with a link, like I did for the album downloads. you get an email with 2 attachments which are zip files-flac and mp3. For some reason, the default opening proram is adobe reader so they don't open. I unzipped them but I can't seem to get them to load into TLH to convert them to wav files. I must be missing a step. I've never messed with FLACs before, so I can't really be of help unfortunately. I did hear from some folks that there's no meta-data in the FLACs, even though the studio that produced them for me said they put the meta-data in. So that's odd. I also just learned tonight that Cubase 6.5, which I use as my DAW to record all this music for y'all, can convert to FLAC directly within the program. So I'll go that route with the bonus material and see if I have more luck in encoding the meta-data. Thanks for all the kind words! People seem to be really digging this release, which is a good feeling. Quote
Dave Garrett Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 you get an email with 2 attachments which are zip files-flac and mp3. For some reason, the default opening proram is adobe reader so they don't open. I unzipped them but I can't seem to get them to load into TLH to convert them to wav files. I must be missing a step. Despite appearing to have a .zip extension, the "attachments" are really hyperlinks to the actual zip files hosted on Google Docs. If you click on one of the links, it should take you to the Google Docs site. I was prompted to sign in with my Google account, and was then able to download and unzip the FLACs with no problems. Listening to them as I type this. Great stuff! Quote

Hopefully, the cd arrives today Quote
David Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Jim, CD arrived last night and I've listened to it once (albeit at a lower volume than I would have liked as the daughter was asleep). GREAT stuff, and I can't wait to hear the bonus tracks. The groove is strong with you As for the liner notes: a John Patton tribute? Yes, please! David Quote
