Really good stuff! Need to find a copy of this one . . . Not sure if anyone posted this yet but this is a good one. Especially the cover! Edited December 18, 2012 by Cactus Bob Quote

Milestones Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Not to diss Jimmy Smith, but his hyped up style would not seem to be the most logical fit for Christmas music. Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Not to diss Jimmy Smith, but his hyped up style would not seem to be the most logical fit for Christmas music. I was listening to it earlier. Yes, it's definitely hyper-active, but so are many of the Christmas parties I went to as a young chap MG Quote
Shawn Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Finding a nice mix between Yule and Christmas... The album creates a very nice overall vibe and holds attention throughout, I have friends that don't really like Jethro Tull that enjoy this album regardless. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 No-one recommending this? Ugh. Pass the barf bag! Quote
Milestones Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 Rod Stewart....my god, the thought alone destroys my Christmas spirit.I second the Jethro Tull album....it is absolutely first-rate. Almost half the tracks are instrumental. Quote
RDK Posted December 19, 2012 Report Posted December 19, 2012 I'm really liking the new Polyphonic Spree holiday album.. Quote

A Lark Ascending Posted December 2, 2013 Report Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) I ordered this for Xmas last November but it arrived in mid-January. So I only listened to it today. Lovely record. Given it's all in Swedish and unfamiliar I suppose I can play it in July. Ranarim were a great Swedish folky group with the divine Ulrika Boden as one of their singers. A voice to melt the coldest icicle. Edited December 2, 2013 by A Lark Ascending Quote
JSngry Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 If you don't mind Christmas music with religious lyrics, this one is hard to beat: Quote
GA Russell Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I have a cassette of Santa Claus is Coming, and it extends to the point when a timer bell rings and the band abruptly stops playing. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I guess I will spin the HOT CLUB COOL YULE album by the Hot Club of San Francisco as well as the Savoy R&B/jazz compilation LP "MR SANTA'S BOOGIE" again. Quote
