I love the quartet for what it is. Avant-garde pop kinda. “Cute” to some extent. Very engaging and fun live. Love Tomeka’s melodies. Best live when they do cool improvised segues between songs. Better last year at the Stone than this past Spring at Jazz Gallery. I’ll see them every time they play.

Maybe I misunderstood "cute".

I like the band too and actually think this new album is a little bit less hook driven than the others. I like the albums and get what Steve says about avant-garde pop. .

I've only listened to it once so need to revisit but I'll go with good cute (not what took to be meant originally).

I need them to come to London
