GA Russell Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 I am looking at a DVD at Amazon. The description doesn't say whether it is widescreen or full screen, but it does say that the Aspect Ratio is 2.35:1. That would make it widescreen, right? What would the aspect ratio of a full screen DVD be? Quote

What would the aspect ratio of a full screen DVD be? Full screen aspect ratio is 1.33:1 Standard widescreen aspect ratios are 1.66:1, 1.78:1, 1.85:1, 2.35:1 and 2.66:1. mjb Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Although it is not much of an issue now, the image should be anamorphic to take up all of a 16:9 screen. The last one I recall is the first series of House - it is not anamorphic and so has black bars all around the image. Edited November 13, 2012 by mjb Quote
