Blue Train
Never heard of the #1 pick Paul Pierce shoulda retired a Celtic...Huge gamble by the Nets, if no title next year or the year after, they could be a huge mess.Ballsy owner. Apparently, Andrei Kirilenko thinks they have the best chance to win. He signed a 2-year deal that will pay him about $6.8 million less if he only plays only one season for them, or $3.64 million less if he doesn't opt of the second season. He opted out of $10 million for what would have been his final season with the Wolves. P.S. The Nets were already looking @ a $70 million luxury tax next year before signing him. If he can stay healthy for the right parts of the season he's a nice addition. But along with how he perceives the team's chances perhaps the Russian ownership played a role. Hey, if people bring up Jay-Z's tiny percentage as a draw all the time I can mention the majority owner's background as being one as well. alocispepraluger102
dean meminger RIP http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/24/sports/basketball/dean-meminger-who-helped-knicks-to-a-title-dies-at-65.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&smid=tw-nytimes&_r=0 "Al McGuire, the former Knick who was Meminger’s coach at Marquette, once said he was “quicker than 11:15 Mass at a seaside resort.” Meminger, the Knicks’ first-round pick in the 1971 N.B.A. draft, joined a brilliant backcourt led by Walt Frazier, Dick Barnett and Earl Monroe. At 6 feet 1 and 175 pounds, he may have seemed overmatched, and he was often a backup. But he was a whirlwind dribbling upcourt, a superb defensive player and a clever ball handler with fine court sense. His most memorable moments came in Game 7 of the 1973 Eastern Conference " Edited August 24, 2013 by alocispepraluger102

Blue Train
James Dolan strikes again. He just fired (I mean made him an "adviser") Glen Grunwald and is bringing back Steve Mills. How long before Isiah shows up again?....if he's not already an "adviser".

How long before Isiah shows up again?....if he's not already an "adviser". The most intriguing rumor I've red in this connection is that Dolan wants to trade Shumpert & Felton for Rondo but that Grunwald did not want to do it. As both a fan of the present Knicks and Rondo I would like the deal.
Blue Train
Kobe went from he was talking about returning for the opening season game....which made no sense no matter how hard he trains and his pain threshold and even less since they're not going to be that good this year....to now he can't say when....and he's flown to Germany to have platelet-rich plasma therapy on the same knee he had it done before. I think this might be the third time. Edited October 3, 2013 by Blue Train
Noj
Kobe should hang 'em up, honestly. If he comes back, plays well, and the Lakers get the 7 seed or something, then the Lakers will probably give him an extension out of loyalty. And Bryant's giant paycheck will hurt their chances of having enough talent to win (if D'Antoni didn't already guarantee they won't be playoff-ready). I'm curious to see how much a difference Doc Rivers can make with the Clippers. Doc's a proven winner. The Clips have the talent on paper. Blue Train
D-Rose is back! Apparently, he's claiming to be in the best shape of his life and added 5 inches to his vertical. The Bulls thought enough of his rehab that they hired Jen Swanson to be Sports Directors of Performance. Not sure what that it says about his previous trainer....who still features Rose all over his site. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/9779719/derrick-rose-chicago-bulls-says-vertical-leap-five-inches-higher-surgery
Blue Train
First Carmelo Anthony announced he avoided surgery for a torn rotator cuff and partially torn labrum....he would have missed @ most a few weeks to a month of the beginning of the season (his season ended May 18th of this year), which is meaningless in the NBA....but would have been really healthy.....and now he wants to test the market next year. What a way for this clown to start a season. If the Knicks had a clue of any kind they would trade him....that's if he can pass a physical by another team.
