J.A.W. Posted April 29, 2013 Author Report Posted April 29, 2013 I certainly love a lot of this music, but have the master takes of virtually all of it on Chronological Classics. Is the sound so improved here, or alternate takes add so much that it is worth repurchasing the music? I guess it's safe to say that the sound is better than on the Classics. I never doubted that for a moment. But how much better? I was being careful because when it comes to sound quality opinions vary and discussions about it tend to turn into heated arguments, if not fights Quote
jazzbo Posted April 29, 2013 Report Posted April 29, 2013 John, I think you'll be very happy with the improved sound. Quote
John L Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 John, I think you'll be very happy with the improved sound. OK, Lon, that is enough for me to pull the trigger. Quote
jazzbo Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 I think this is an outstanding set in every way. Quote
RiRiIII Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Just received this one (#1081) and enjoy the Bechet tunes as well as The Eckstine Jelly Jelly! Great sound too. Quote
bluesoul Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 This set is on Spotify now. That should help tide me over until I get around to ordering it later this year. Quote
