alocispepraluger102 Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 LINK "Word trickles out of Jets practice that Tim Tebow is now, finally, the legal owner of the term "Tebowing." This doesn't mean you or I can't continue to talk about or write about Tebow. It just means we can't profit off of it. (What does this mean for ESPN, where Tebow=Profit?) According to ESPN's Jane McManus, Tebow doesn't plan to make any money off his "Tebowing" trademark, since it's a prayer and all. But he wanted more control over it, to keep others from profiting." Christiern Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 This just makes him all the more ridiculous and, frankly, disgusting. A cheap gimmick by a player who ain't all that good. Quote
Neal Pomea Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Was his family name Americanized from the French Thibaut? The one that puzzles me is Favre, pronounced Farv. How is the r sound in front of the v? Favre is a pretty common name in Louisiana and I assume Mississippi, pronounced Fahv, silent re. Quote
GA Russell Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 NP, I lived in Atlanta when Favre was a rookie there, and his name was pronounced Fahv with a whispered "re/ruh". He rarely played in Atlanta as I recall, and when he showed up in Green Bay the announcers called him Farv. Quote

Jazzmoose Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 He rarely played in Atlanta as I recall... That's because 90% of the time, he was drunk. Quote
