Chuck Nessa Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Joseph is 75 today and I just spoke with him. He is ok. I extend much thanks to Mr. Jarman, my friend since 1966. Quote
BeBop Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Thanks, Mr. Jarman, for joys received in concerts and recordings. All the best at 75. Quote

alocispepraluger102 Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 a good reason to hear 2 of my favorite recordings in this world, song for and out of the mist. for a time in the 90s, mr. jarman had put his horn away. we are richly blessed that it did not stay so. Quote
jeffcrom Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Hope he has many more birthdays to come. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Belated happiest of happy birthdays to Mr. Jarman. Song For was one of the first "outside" jazz LPs I purchased, and it made quite an impact. Quote

clifford_thornton Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) 1996. Ayler and Coltrane were the first jazz musicians I investigated; not too much later, Jarman, Mitchell, Dolphy and Taylor followed. Then, I discovered that my dad played Braxton and Sam Rivers albums when I was a wee tyke, so I guess it was "in there" somewhere. Anyway, another subject.
