danasgoodstuff Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 Back when they were as thick as thieves. I'm not so sure Brian and keith ever were, kind of creepy that No Lifeguard on Duty sign in the background...do love the way they played together though. Quote
Indestructible! Posted September 14, 2012 Report Posted September 14, 2012 That interview was obviously conducted before this was announced: Having said that, I'm looking forward to hearing the two new songs, and would love to get to one of the four shows they will be playing later this year (2 in London, 2 in New York). I must revisit some Jones era Stones with adult ears and a better stereo system. I've always been a Taylor/Richards fan though. Love Mick Taylor's big Blues-Rock tone and beautiful phrasing. My only post-teen listening with Brian, was at the time of the Rock n Roll Circus issue. For me the highlight of that film (and the later bonus footage), was the chance to see the great Jesse Ed Davis with Taj Mahal. I also bought the Luc Goddard flick with the Sympathy For The Devil sessions, hoping the Keith Richards guitar solo overdubs were in the film. One of my favourite Rock guitar leads. Alas not to be. But fun to see nevertheless. And to jsangry... I will match your Keith Richards finger... and raise you Mick Taylor's Afro Edited September 19, 2012 by freelancer Quote
robertoart Posted November 26, 2012 Author Report Posted November 26, 2012 (edited) They're back. It's underway. Look out America. I took a listen to this...and the earth moved. Unfortunately it was Freddie King rolling over in his grave. I can't help it, but Jeff Beck's ornamental twang bar/slide prototechnics increasingly give me the shits. Sorry Beck fans, I know he has a lot of respect from others with good ears. Edited November 26, 2012 by freelancer Quote

ghost of miles Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 I picked up a copy of that Stones-in-1965 documentary last week and am hoping to give it a viewing this weekend. Quote
robertoart Posted November 26, 2012 Author Report Posted November 26, 2012 Ronnie Wood was sounding good though. Maybe he's found his old mojo. Knowing he was going to have Mick Taylor breathing down his neck for this tour might have sent him back to the woodshed Quote
