vajerzy Posted December 30, 2012 Author Report Posted December 30, 2012 Locked out for picks Not that it matters with my picks Buff Balt Clev New Orleans Detroit Houston Tenn Ny giants Tbay Denver Minn New England Oakland San Fran Seattle Washington They're in!! Well, it all comes down to the Cowboys-Redskins game. As jazzmoose has never won this contest before, I am forced to root for Dallas . (BTW, it has not been lost on me that my performance in just about every season since winning it all in 2006 has mirrored that of my MLB team, the Dodgers - start strongly and fade quickly.) It's all good! I may be going down with my Eagles....but we are making it a family night with the Redskins win! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted December 31, 2012 Report Posted December 31, 2012 And now I know how it feels to be a Cowboys fan and have your season's hopes and dreams pinned to the back of Tony Romo... I was hoping for a 'worst to first' finish, but I'll settle for finally ending the season out of the cellar. Congrats to uh...which one of you two won, anyway? Quote

Damn. You mean if I hadn't lost faith in the Bengals like a chump, I could still be playing? That sucks! Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 As discussed at the end of last season, now Aggie87 and Vajerzy select the winners of playoff games each week until someone ends up ahead. Glad I caught this, I thought we were done! I'm not sure how I managed to catch back up, I thought Moose was going to take it all. I don't think the website is letting us make our picks yet for the playoffs though - anybody else having problems? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 I can set up a playoff pool for us Let me know Quote

connoisseur series500 Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Congratulations to everyone participating in the this years pool. Aggie and Vaj will have to make their picks directly on this site as NFL.com doesn't include the playoffs, right? Do we use SS1's suggested scoring system for the tiebreak? Do only Aggie and Vaj playoff, or are the rest of us still "in it?" I must say that I tried my hardest this season and got trounced. The competition was fierce. I will have to step up my game next year. I did miss one easy gimme when I forgot to pick a thursday night game, but that accounted for only one point, and it wouldn't have made much difference to my standings. I still finished 8 points out. Great picking, fellahs! What do you guys think? Aggie and Vaj have to playoff for sure. Is there any point for the rest of us to continue as well? Quote
vajerzy Posted January 3, 2013 Author Report Posted January 3, 2013 Thanks Conn! It was a good time! We all should pick the games- for fun! CBS Sports doesn't have a playoff pick-em available however we can do it ourselves by putting our picks on the board. Easy to keep track. For an added twist- we can pick against the spread- that will make things interesting! So I propose everyone plays and we either: 1- pick against the spread, or 2- pick straight up. Thoughts? Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) I'm picking the Texans for the first game today. Do we have to pick all the games before the first one starts, or can we pick each of them up until game time? I'd rather just pick straight up than against the spread, I think, like we've been doing all season. Edited January 5, 2013 by Aggie87 Quote
Edward Posted January 5, 2013 Report Posted January 5, 2013 I pick the Texans and the Packers to win today's games. (I think that the current lines are the Texans by 4 and the Packers by 8. If we were to pick by the spread, I would choose both the Texans and the Packers to cover.) Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I'm gonna take the Packers tonight, too. Would have taken them anyway, but the Vikes are also without Ponder tonight. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Just as well I lost it in the last week; I'd have gone with the Bengals this time; I figured the Texans were pretty much shot. Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I'm going with both home teams today, Ravens & Redskins. Though the Seahawks are hard to bet against. Quote
Edward Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Aggie87 and vajerzy are the only two who should have any real interest in picking playoff winners - where are you, vajerzy? For fun, I pick the Colts to beat the Ravens (and to cover the spread - the Ravens are favored by 7) and the Seahawks to cover the spread (they are favored by 3) against the Redskins. Quote
vajerzy Posted January 10, 2013 Author Report Posted January 10, 2013 Here I am- took a break from the board. Didn't hear from anyone initially so I figured no one wanted to do it. Only game I lost (straight up) was the Redskins- I believe Seattle is going all the way. Lets do rocks-scissors-paper. Hard to do when Aggie is in TX and I'm in VA. I am going to NJ/Philly Jan 18-21. Aggie87 Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Rock Scissors Paper - K, you go first, then I'll tell you what I picked! Quote

Jazzmoose Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Wait a minute; what's the over/under on scissors? Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 I'm picking Denver and San Francisco for today's games. Denver's 7-1 at home, and SF is 6-1-1. Too hard to bet against. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted August 19, 2013 Report Posted August 19, 2013 2013 Season is almost here Anyone interested in playing? Quote
