GA Russell
;As the article said, my thought was that the stupidity was on the part of the receiving team who tackled him!

GA Russell
Apparently that video of Jim Marshall shows George Mira, later of the Montreal Alouettes, throwing to halfback Billy Kilmer, later the quarterback of the Redskins. alocispepraluger102
Apparently that video of Jim Marshall shows George Mira, later of the Montreal Alouettes, throwing to halfback Billy Kilmer, later the quarterback of the Redskins. kilmer and joe kapp threw the ugliest passes i've seen in the nfl, other than tebow, and they were both winners.   jim marshall was one of the most remarkable athletes i've seen. he played 20 years in the nfl at right defensive end without serious injury. strangely, he was badly injured after football in a hang gliding accident, i think. Dave James
All these plays are stupid for sure, but none of them come close to what happened in the 1954 Cotton Bowl game between Rice and Alabama. Dickie Maegle, Rice's All-American halfback, ran for 265 yards and scored three times, but that's not what people remember, What do they remember? Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoCf3WqVyx4

slide_advantage_redoux
My dad was at that game too Jim. He was in the stands on the same side of the field where the tackler came off the bench. FOLD!
