Chuck Nessa Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 The label started as a lame imitation "new age" concern in the early '80s. It grew some to escape the beginning. I was so turned off by the beginnings I didn't follow. Sorry to see any label die. Quote
rostasi Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Had no idea that you had a blog. I've tried to get that "infinite scrolling" script to work on my site to no avail. It's a shame about New Albion, but it would seem that the possibilities still exist and they're unable or unwilling to adapt. Some of those releases are so old, that they could conceivably be seen as introductions for a new generation of listeners. oh well... Quote
seeline Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 They developed a very good catalogue and I'm sorry to hear this news. Quote
7/4 Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 Had no idea that you had a blog. It started as a new home for old writing and I just keep adding stuff. I don't know how serious I am about it. Quote
jeffcrom Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 New Albion issued what is perhaps my favorite Anthony Braxton solo album, which I'm listening to now: Quote
T.D. Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 RIP. I found New Albion's catalog kind of uneven, but there are plenty of releases I enjoy and still own. Quote
