Hardbopjazz Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Wow, I've been to Toronto before, but I never knew jazz wasn't allowed in the parks. Quote
wesbed Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 For some twisted reason this sign causes me to laugh. Quote
BeBop Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Wow, I've been to Toronto before, but I never knew jazz wasn't allowed in the parks. I'd like to know the backstory on that one (even if I suspect more than a little tongue-in-cheekiness). Toronto's got a decent jazz radio station and a fine performance scene. Thanks for sharing. My wife will enjoy it. Quote

ejp626 Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 For the most part, I am pro-busking. However... In Chicago, during the summer, you get a bunch of kids from the South Side coming up to the Loop and banging on plastic barrels. They are called the Bucket Brigade. They often play fairly well, but play way, way too loudly. Often you can hear them two blocks away. They also keep it up for 2-3 hours at a time, which is again too long and too disruptive for businesses and even office workers in the floors above where they hang out. Quote
