GA Russell Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) Amazon Local is offering today only a free $3 mp3 credit. http://local.amazon.com/raleigh/ PS - US customers only. Edited July 5, 2012 by GA Russell Quote
Justin V Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 I picked up this one after receiving the email: Bobby Bradford and the Mo'tet - Lost in L.A. I have nothing with Bradford, so I thought that I'd give it a shot. Quote

CraigP Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks, got Harris eisenstadt's Canada Day II with it. Quote
mjzee Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Amazon seems to be handling this offer differently than prior offers. I do not see the $3 under "Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance." It looks like I first need to log into AmazonLocal. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 5, 2012 Author Report Posted July 5, 2012 mjzee, first you go to Amazon Local and buy the voucher for $0. Then you redeem the voucher and get a code. Then you redeem the code, and your credit shows up like it has in the past. Quote
BFrank Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 "Arcane" is putting it mildly. I got one, though! Thanks, GA. Quote
Noj Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Picked up Alabama Shakes Boys & Girls with this one. Thanks GA! Quote
BFrank Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 Let me know what you think of Alabama Shakes. My friends and I saw them at SXSW and weren't impressed - but we seem to be in the minority. This group gets raves wherever they play. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 6, 2012 Author Report Posted July 6, 2012 You're welcome everyone! I wound up getting the Charles Mingus twofer The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady/Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus for $3.99. Quote

My friend was playing the album yesterday while we BBQ'd and watched fireworks at The Rose Bowl. The lady singer has a very soulful voice. The instrumentals are sweet without being sickly. Sincere, good quality music. The downside is it all sounds a little same-y, from track to track. I imagine they're fun live. Quote

She has a good voice and presence, but when we saw them the band seemed somewhat uninspired. Same-y would be a good description. Actually, here's the show! Maybe I should watch it again. http://www.npr.org/event/music/148530119/alabama-shakes-live-in-concert-sxsw-2012 Quote
