romualdo Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 Corbett vs Dempsey have just reissued two early Joe McPhee Hat Huts 1. Glasses - live solo (plus one duo percussion) Switzerland, 1977 2. Variations On A Blue Line/'Round Midnight - live solo France, 1977 They come as foldout digipaks with nicely done repros of the original LP covers You can get these directly from CvsD (Dusty Groove also stock them) http://corbettvsdempsey.com/CDs.html just love those digipaks - great spacesavers though not as good as digital Quote
colinmce Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 I mentioned these in the Hat Hut thread. They are also planning more McPhees and Philip Wilson's Esoteric. Here's hoping for even more ... Baikida Carroll's The Spoken Word would be awesome. Quote

Colin I considered that before I posted Tried searching for Hat Art & Hat Hut but nothing came up - Am I doing something wrong? Generally I don't have much luck finding previous threads by searching within organissimo - have had better luck by searching via google to find the old thread Any hints/help would be most appreciated Quote
colinmce Posted June 28, 2012 Report Posted June 28, 2012 No clue. I use Google, tooFWIW I plan to send a message along to John Corbett with some queries and recommendations. I will post the reply if I get one. Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 These seem to be from vinyl (I could be wrong though...), that's surprising. But it's great to see a music supporter such as Corbett still devoted to McPhee's early works. Quote
Face of the Bass Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 I got these in the mail last week and recommend them both highly. Especially Glasses. Quote
colinmce Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Stumbled upon this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009Q8BXR6 No word on CvsD or anywhere else. Forthcoming? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Who knows. Esoteric is a fine album, hope it does get reissued soon. Quote
colinmce Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 I hope. It's nice they're putting out "Lonely Woman" (which was lopped off Oleo for the CD editions) but there are plenty of full albums worthy of release. Quote
