Chuck Nessa Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Both are VERY bright musicians - I can not imagine what they would find in common in 2004. I will pay to discover the outcome. Quote
David Williams Posted February 19, 2004 Author Report Posted February 19, 2004 Evan sticks to tenor. Relaxed, melodic playing from both; in fact, Evan is more melodic, and uses fewer of his 'techniques' than on any of the dozen or so of his recordings I have. Still that lovely flow and tone, though. I like. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I'm really looking forward to this one. Most of Stan's output in recent years has been standards and well known jazz tunes. My favourite period of his is the 70s and early 80s when he was writing lots of his own stuff. It will be good to hear him in this rather different context. Quote
Joe Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Fascinating. Thanks for the heads-up. (Who's going to start the Bobby Wellins thread?) Quote
J.A.W. Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 It's now available from Downtown Music Gallery. Quote
