Is this story accurate?

I don't remeber the website, but I was reading online, that the Duke Pearson's "Sweet Honey Bee" on CD came from a viynl record. The master tapes were lost. I have both the Rare Groove and RVG issue of this, and I can't tell that it came from viynl. Does anyone if this is true?

Tom Evered at Blue Note once confirmed that the tapes are lost, and that the RVG was mastered from vinyl.
