Pete C Posted August 15, 2012 Report Posted August 15, 2012 "newly composed songs in the rock face in water" I wonder what the real translation is. Rock vein? Any Czech or other Slavic language speakers here? Maybe I'll write a haiku in which one line is "Rock face in water." Quote
JETman Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 Just found out through an email exchange with Peter Losin that this release has been delayed until early January Quote
king ubu Posted August 17, 2012 Report Posted August 17, 2012 That's because Mr. Wilburn will redo the drum-parts, I've heard. Quote
CJ Shearn Posted August 18, 2012 Author Report Posted August 18, 2012 That's because Mr. Wilburn will redo the drum-parts, I've heard. LOL. Oh man, thats brutal. Well, January is good, more time to save. Quote
ghost of miles Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Any news on a release date for this set? Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Think it's been pushed back to early 2013 Second bootleg box postponed (8/16/2012) Sony has postposed until January 2013 the release date of the second installment in the Miles Davis Bootleg Series, and the reissue of the first eight Miles Davis Columbia LPs in mono will be postponed as well. In addition, the mono LP project may be licensed to the Music on Vinyl label, which has released several of Miles Davis's Columbia recordings on high-quality 180-gram vinyl. http://www.plosin.com/MilesAhead/mdNews.html Quote
.:.impossible Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Anyone have any of the Music on Vinyl Miles Davis Columbia reissues? First I've heard of it. Quote
medjuck Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 I guess Vince Wilburn Jr *is* overdubbing over Jack DeJohnette Seriously tho, what the hold up is I have no idea. Wilburn Jr. s Seriously tho, what the hold up is I have no idea. Packaging? Rights? IIRC nearly everyone of the metal spine bo sets arrived later than first announced. I think (hope) that they're just trying to get it right. (Apple does do one ting right: they don't announce a product till it's ready to ship. ) Quote
king ubu Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Seems Mr Vilburn will do his new drumparts during holiday season and they're aiming for a late January release! http://www.amazon.com/Live-In-Europe-1969-Bootleg/dp/B008YCMM2A/ Quote
jazzbo Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 I pre-ordered yesterday. Going to be an amazing release I believe. Quote
Matthew Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 This looks like a great one, I'm very interested in the DVD also. Quote
J.A.W. Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Only 23 euro (including VAT for EU countries only) from Amazon Germany: http://www.amazon.de...x_ya_os_product Edited November 14, 2012 by J.A.W. Quote
jazzbo Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Great price. In the USA I'd worry that the DVD would not be compatible however. Quote
J.A.W. Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Great price. In the USA I'd worry that the DVD would not be compatible however. The DVD that came with Vol.1 in Europe was region-free, so I guess this one is too. Quote
GA Russell Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Only 23 euro (including VAT for EU countries only) from Amazon Germany: http://www.amazon.de...x_ya_os_product I signed up. I don't speak German. Is there anything I should know about the amazon.de page? I assume that like the Amazon UK page it automatically gets your address and credit card information from the main amazon.com databank. Quote

Yep, it's all interconnected, with the exception of Amazon Japan. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 Amazon US has it at $52.91, Amazon DE at EUR23.00 as Hans noted above. EUR23.00 is about USD$29.00 That's a huge difference. Quote

mjzee Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 The odds are good that the Amazon US price will come way down before release. Quote
JSngry Posted November 15, 2012 Report Posted November 15, 2012 I like the cover! I like the colors ok, but...that photo is from, when, 1959? There are some Val Wilmer photos taken from around the same time that would have made really spectacular covers. Are they dated? Yeah, sure, but when you put "1969" right there on the cover, it's not like you're running away from anything. That cover is like this one in reverse: Quote
