JSngry Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 "The Sound Of Jazz" when it was first broadcast? If so, what were your immediate impressions? For that matter, did any of you happen to see "Jammin' The Blues" in it's original release? I'm assuming that this was in general (or at least, given the whole racial situation of the time as it pertained to the film industry, regional) theatrical release at one time? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Same questions, first impressions, etc., as well as percieved response by others in the audience. As always, thanks in advance! Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 A good question, re: Sound of Jazz, and I not being a 'vet' can't say, but I do have in my LP collection an original vinyl. It was my Aunt Toots'. So it must have made some kind of impression to quite a general audience when someone living in the Delaware Water Gap and who always set the table with waaay too much silver-ware, IMO, went out and got the soundtrack! There was not much of it's kind on the few channels in them days, so this must have been quite the coup at the time. Love to hear comments as well. Quote
