Leroy Bad Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 (edited) http://www.ebay.com/itm/170841492675 A very rare CD version of the In Concert, In Japan album by The New York Jazz Quartet featuring Frank Wess on Flute and Soprano Saxophone, Ron Carter on Bass, Roland Hanna on Piano ,and Ben Riley on the drums in mini LP form PLJ recorders MTCJ 4016. It contains the live performances of 1. Little Waltz 2. Well You Needn't 3. Introspection 4. Mediterranean Seascape The CD is in excellent condition, it includes liner notes, but I marked "Good" because there is some wear to the mini lp sleeve mostly near the spine, and there is no OBI strip included. mikeweil Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 This is a nice album - an excellent band. Roland Hanna is great, in partcicular. They should have done a proper reissue with bonus tracks ... Quote
Leroy Bad Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Posted May 13, 2012 Yeah well there is was another album of live recordings in Japan a few months after this recording, released on CBS Records for the US. It's subtitled Volume One, which was canceled due to a lawsuit between Ron Carter and Didier C. Deutsch. Quote
