ghost of miles
Focusing mostly on Cherry's collaborations with others (Sonny Rollins, the NYC5, Albert Ayler) and several leader dates as well: Communion: Don Cherry In The 1960s Edited January 21, 2021 by ghost of miles
brownie
Emphasis should be put on Gato Barbieri who was Don Cherry's main and most constant partner during the '60s. I was lucky to be able to listen to that Complete Communion group on several occasions, also Don with Sonny Rollins. Wish I had had a chance to hear the Cherry-Ayler group live

Barbieri is heard on two tracks in the show: the excerpt from Complete Communion and the live performance of "Remembrance."
brownie
Just for fun, a sample of Krzystof Komeda's music for Jerzy Skolimowski's 'Le Départ' with Don Cherry and Gato Barbieri (and several other players). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-3jZW7qsBk
