AllenLowe Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 sure, it must be for Blues and the Empirical Truth, right? Well it is - but not for the music - for the liner notes, along with Francis Davis. So does this make Blues and the Empirical Truth the CD the equivalent to one of those musicals where, as the comedians used to say, "you walk out whistling the scenery" ? Quote
CraigP Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Don't look a gift award in the mouth! Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 25, 2012 Author Report Posted April 25, 2012 well, guess what, just found out the Liners nomination was for just Francis, not me. Hmmmmmmm.... funny thing is, this is the 2nd time something like this has happened to me. oh well..... Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 25, 2012 Author Report Posted April 25, 2012 correction to the correction - I was just informed I AM a co-nominee - Quote
Pete C Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Your next project should be a blank cd with great notes. Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 25, 2012 Author Report Posted April 25, 2012 I thought about it - or maybe someone reading the notes. Quote
Pete C Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Then you'd need another set of notes. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 It's not about notes, it's about feelings. Quote
JSngry Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Has anybody ever done Braille liner notes? Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 25, 2012 Author Report Posted April 25, 2012 only for Helen Keller's Greatest Hits. Quote
Pete C Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Has anybody ever done Braille liner notes? Maybe for 16 RPM talking books? I remember asking someone what the 16 speed on my turntable was when I was a kid and was told it was for recordings for the blind. It's not about notes, it's about feelings. So where's the feeling factory? Quote
johnlitweiler Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Congratulations to Allen and to Organissimo's Chuck Nessa and Jonathan Horwich, who were also nominated. (Anyone else here?) Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Roscoe, Fred, Malachi and Alvin received the nomination, not me. Quote
ejp626 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 So where's the feeling factory? Well, here's a finger factory that might be of interest: Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 26, 2012 Author Report Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) there are so many nominees in the liner note category that I'm hoping they all knock each other off, and I win with about 7 votes - Edited April 26, 2012 by AllenLowe Quote

David Ayers Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 See the Europeans are holding up well in these listings. Out of about 250 nominees we've got - uh - still looking...Oh well. Objectivity hurts. Quote
David Ayers Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Europe? Where's Europe? Even harder to find than New Jersey, apparently. Quote
