A Lark Ascending Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) Watching a doc the other night about Southern Rock and having recently read a book on music and politics in the 60s/70s I thought this might be an interesting idea for a thread: Jimmy Carter meets the Allman Brothers James Brown and Nixon Two guitarists having a chuckle over a particularly difficult chord sequence. Not shown with the Lord's anointed but just afterwards. Where's the beret? Edited April 22, 2012 by A Lark Ascending Quote

David Ayers Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 Probably lots of examples with Paul Robeson. I tried to find one of him with Stalin, but I haven't. It seems likely Stalin was quite careful who he was photographed with. That's only waht I could (not) find on google. Quote

I was surprised there was nothing on Google of Stalin with Shostakovich or Prokofiev (during the times when they were in). Had hoped to find Louis XIV and Lully. Had to make do with this 19thC imagining of George I with Handel: Edited April 23, 2012 by A Lark Ascending Quote
