However, her DVD, "Live In New Orleans" sold in TW is NTD688. One member asked the reason why the retail price of her DVD was so expensive. He thought maybe the tariff would explain. ==================================================== In my point of view, I think NT500 would be the reasonable price for her DVD. Quote
Philly Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Hi, David Ayers, Welcome to join MP Jazz Forum. I think the moderator, Thomas Wu, and all MP members would be glad to see you sharing your thoughts about Jazz with us. Quote
vibes Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Philly, is your site using Big5 code? My Chinese OS is having trouble decoding whatever you're using on your site, so it all comes out as 亂碼。 I frequently have this problem with Chinese boards. I've love to be able to browse your site. Dan Gould Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Welcome, Philly, and I hope you stick around. One question: What is your connection to Philadelphia? Have you lived there or are you interested because so many great players came from Philly? Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Philly, don't forget to check out the homepage and the reason why this forum exists... Organissimo Homepage. That's my organ trio. Welcome! Quote
Philly Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Welcome, Philly, and I hope you stick around. One question: What is your connection to Philadelphia? Have you lived there or are you interested because so many great players came from Philly? 1. I had lived in Philadelphia for around 2 years. 2. I am a die-hard hardbop lover so I've commented some hardbop-related albums. It is a coincidence that many players, such as Benny Golson, Lee Morgan, Ted Curson and Bill Barron....etc are from the brotherly love city. Maybe it could be said that Philadelphia has been one of jazz players' cradles in the east coast for a long time. How would you think? Quote
BruceH Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 That's a good point. You could say much the same about Indianapolis, which also produced a surprising number of top jazz musicians for its size. Anyone want to change their handle to "Indy"? Quote
PHILLYQ Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Philly, Welcome from PHILLYQ- I have no connection with the city myself.Talk about a Bizarro world- are there others with similar names to Organissimo members? This could be very interesting. Quote
alankin Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 I live in Philly, maybe I should posting on one of the alternate reality sites 12 hours away from my time-space continuum. Quote
Bright Moments Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 Welcome Philly! Does your site have a "babe" thread? Quote
ds0823 Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Hi guys, I'm one of the members from "Music Power, Taiwan", my username there is "DANNYBOY". I host a daily jazz radio show there, from midnight to 2, go check it out thru : http://www.e-classical.com.tw/voice/radio/ But when you do that, please confirm the "TIME ZONE" stuff...... Great to hear that you've found us. Mr. Ayers is absolutely right, the love for jazz from all over the world are the same. There are many of us in Taiwan love jazz as a part of life, as most of you guys here. I've read Claude's reply in the "Jazz DVD" thread in Music Power, a damn good one and made lots of us hungry for getting it, so, any suggestions or directions? Oh BTW, though not all of us, but I think most of us do know that Norah is Ravi's daughter...... Quote
ds0823 Posted January 27, 2004 Report Posted January 27, 2004 Thanks!!!!! and how did you do it? type Chinese here!!! Quote
David Ayers Posted January 27, 2004 Author Report Posted January 27, 2004 Climb up on my knee, DS0823... Quote

ds0823 Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 One silly question........... What is "Babe Thread"? and sorry for my poor vocaburary..... Quote
Philly Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Hello ds0823! Glad to see you here! I don't know the "Babe Thread", either. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 The "Babe Thread" is a topic on this board that features photos of women that our members find attractive. "Babe" is slang for a beautiful woman. Quote
ds0823 Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 I see, the "Babe Thread" means the real "Babe" thread......, at the beginning I thought that's some kindda secret password you guys use here. I've found the thread, and there're 86 pages long!!!!! maybe we should open one in MP forum. BTW, the "Jazz Pie Club" isn't the "Babe Thread", that's a real club, for jazz fans in Taiwan to get around. Quote
