How many live jazz shows have you seen in your life?

I kept a list for almost twenty years, but could care less about pulling it out - I still remember the first: Oscar Peterson with sam Jones and Bobby Durham in Munich, and the second: Herbie Mann with Sonny Sharrock, Steve Marcus, Miroslav Vitous and Bruno Carr in Frankfurt, both in 1970. Most memorable? No idea .... right now I think it's not that important, especially if there's nobody here to come close to what Brownie or Chuck Nessa or Valerie B.have seen.

Not the foggiest. Quite a few. What's jazz, anyway? I saw Tony Crombie in 1957 at the Bradford Odeon. He was second on the bill to the Platters.

The first concert I ever went to was at the Fillmore East in 1970. I went to see Santana, and the opener was Rahsaan.

That was the year I started going to the Fillmore, but unfortunately didn't get to that one.

If I remember correctly you're about the same age as me (I'm 56) and grew up in Brooklyn, maybe even in or close to Midwood?

I'll be 56 in June and I grew up in Flatbush, I lived on Flatbush Avenue near Avenue D/Ditmas Avenue(depending on what side of the street you were on). IIRC, you were near Coney island Avenue?
