Peter Johnson Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Apologies if this is duplicative--I'm on mobile and the search isn't working that well. Any suggestions for live music or record (vinyl) shopping in Atlanta/environs? I'm here for two nights. Thanks! Quote
jeffcrom Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Atlanta has some great record stores. Check out: Wax n Facts Wuxtry Full Moon. This small store is around the corner from my house. Records Galore. A little bit of a drive to the suburb of Clarkston. Live music - well, Atlanta is pretty depressing for a city this size. Gary Motley, a good straight-ahead pianist, is playing at Churchill Grounds Friday and Saturday. The Nighthawks are at Blind Willie's blues club on Friday. Pick up a copy of Creative Loafing at one of the record stores and see if anything strikes you. Do you have a car here? PM me if you want a ride to record stores. Quote
BeBop Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) In general, I head to Little Five Points for: Moods Music, 1131 Euclid Criminal Records, 1154 Euclid Wax n' Facts, 432 Moreland Satellite, 447 Moreland (all within about a block) Wuxtry, 2096 N Decatur Decatur CD is pretty good, if you're near Decatur. 356 West Ponce de Leon Edited March 16, 2012 by BeBop Quote
Peter Johnson Posted March 16, 2012 Author Report Posted March 16, 2012 Terrific info, bebop--thanks! I'd seen the motley listing and was thinking about it. I do have wheels. If you're in town, it would be cool to hang. Should have most of tomorrow free. Let me know. Quote
