Soulstation1 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 This weeks game vs Buffalo is a chance for us to win a game Telling ya my Browns will only win 2 or 3 games this season and one will be vs NY Giants Quote
paul secor Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Interesting NY Time story The NFL seems to be concerned with how players look, but not about safety. And it seems as if some players aren't concerned either. Quote

GA Russell Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 I knew of nothing like what I read about the Jets all the time when I was a kid fifty years ago. Were pro football players much tamer then, or was it all covered up back in those days? Quote
T.D. Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 I knew of nothing like what I read about the Jets all the time when I was a kid fifty years ago. Were pro football players much tamer then, or was it all covered up back in those days? Nothing at all new for the J-E-T-S...I remember Richard Todd going after Steve Serby in 1981! A lotta stuff got covered up in the old days. Sportswriters played more "buddy-buddy" with athletes, and coverage was more adulatory. Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) 545pm-------The NFL has announced multi-year agreements with Time Warner Cable & Bright House Networks to carry NFL Network & NFL RedZone starting this Sunday, with a full launch on Thursday. :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: -------------------------------------- joe namath and pals nightlifing and carousing in the 60s were often on the NY front pages. alocispepraluger102 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 it gets stranger and strangerer. now comes this tidbit from the sportswire---- "8:45 PM: The Associated Press reports the New York Jets brought in sleep specialists this week to help their players get more rest. Coach Rex Ryan says: "I just think it's wise to do that .... If we can gain a little advantage, then we're going to look for it."" Quote
JETman Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Many NY franchises are very poorly run. The Jets are certainly no exception. Tough being a fan these days for what Woody passes off as acceptable product. Quote
Matthew Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I think no one is listening to Rex Ryan anymore, his style doesn't seem to last too long. Rex is the Jerry Glanville of the 2010s Quote
JETman Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 True. He's a big blowhard. And a very poor judge of talent. Instead of recognizing that they made a mistake with Sanchez, they offer him a $20 million extension? Is this the new way of pretending that you know what you're doing? Denial all the way. Jets will be lucky to go .500 this year. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Flipping Browns make Buffalo look good Quote
Noj Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 I hope Raiders receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey is OK. He was carted off the field after taking a shot to the helmet on a crossing pattern. He showed no signs of movement. Sending positive vibes his way. Quote

These replacement refs are letting a ton of head shots go in the games I watched today. Hope he's okay also. Quote
Stefan Wood Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Well, the Kool Aid wore off pretty quick for my team, the Redskins. Special Teams much improved; the defense is horrible, specifically the pass defense. The offense is doing all right, but they have to protect Griffin. Injuries are killing this team as well. Looking at the schedule, if they can win three more games this year I will be impressed. Quote

Just saw a replay in which Darrius raised a hand to acknowledge the crowd. I'm relieved. Brutal week of picks for us, Matthew. Quote

Brutal week of picks for us, Matthew. Picks? What picks? It was my evil twin who picked the games for me this week.... Gosh, brutal is a nice way to put it, hopefully I can sneak wins in tonight and tomorrow. Speaking of brutal, the Chargers were just that this afternoon. Quote
