Nice story. I remember a long time ago hearing on the Westwood One national radio broadcast of a game Bob Trumpy, the old Bengals end, say that "Kitna is living every high school math teacher's dream."

San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh says of QB Alex Smith, who was benched during the season in favor of Colin Kaepernick: "He coaches Colin now more than I do. It speaks volume for person and teammate he is.

It's all about "Team".

I kinda did this year, first time in a while. I wanted to see how much halfassing the commissioner would deem an acceptably low level to keep him from pulling the plug on the event.

His bar is set a little lower than mine, I guess.

Wasn't the right fit because he's a crappy coach, who is more into self promotion than coaching. Have I mentioned before I have no use for either of the Ryan brothers?

Shouldn't they have had those extensive conversations BEFORE they hired him?

The San Jose Mercury News reports a pair of 49ers fans paid $5,900 for Super Bowl tickets on Craigslist, only to receive a FedEx package with the message "Go Ravens! LOL!" but no tickets. The 49ers front office heard of the story & gave the couple free tickets to the game.

Why is the Stupid Bowl taking place in NY ridiculous? Football's a cold weather sport -- why not hold the flagship game in cold weather once in a while?

Would you rather they hold it in Cleveland?

The NFL was cheating itself out of more money (can you believe it?) by restricting the bidding to southern cities or indoor only stadiums. Too many of the southern cities have eff'd up finances which theoretically was keeping the bids lower than desired. But now if you open it up to cold weather outdoor venues...well, my oh my, how very nice for the NFL. And for fans too. Face it, other than 70-100 thousand people no one else really gives a care if it's 20 degrees and snowing since they're at home watching the game. And the fact that people are talking about with concern about the weather for the 2014 Super Bowl when they have no intention of going is also quite remarkable. Brilliant move NFL, absolutely brilliant. And as Jetman pointed out, it's FOOTBALL - I'd love to see to it snow during a Super Bowl.
